Agnes Wingerter

God opened the Gates of Heaven on January 22, 2025 for our beloved mother, Agnes Wingerter. Our dearest mother, Agnes “Aggie” Mary Ann (Schneider) Wingerter passed away peacefully at the age 91 years old. Agnes was brought into this world as God’s Child on August 14, 1933. 

She was born and raised on a farm near Wakpala, South Dakota. Agnes married the love of her life, Joseph Quinton Wingerter on November 22, 1951 in Selfridge, North Dakota. Together they raised a family of 8 children. Agnes and Joseph had many jobs throughout their life long journey. They both owned and operated the Wishing Well Bar and Steakhouse in Selfridge, North Dakota for many years. Farming was also a well established business for Agnes and Joseph. 

Agnes will be deeply missed by her surviving children: Tim Wingerter (Fairbanks, Alaska), Bob Wingerter (Wamego, Kansas), Carold (Cheryl) Wingerter (Cedar, Minnesota), Ted (Lilia) Wingerter (North Pole, Alaska), Dean Wingerter, (Bismarck, North Dakota), Dawn (Dean) Friedt (Mott, North Dakota), Connie (Mike) Eckert (Bismarck, North Dakota). Siblings: Linda (Loren) Yates, Kay (Steve) Aberle, Norma Schneider (Sister-N-Law).

Her family will miss her delicious, mouth watering meals and desserts. Her warm compassionate heart and her beautiful smile. Her examples of grace, dignity and respect for herself and others, leaves a blueprint for all of us to follow. May God Bless our beautiful mother and grant us the strength to follow her ways. 

Agnes’ unwavering faith and devotion to her family will never be forgotten. The stories and memories of Agnes will forever be cherished by her 34 grandchildren, 70 great-grandchildren and 20 great-great grandchildren. Her great love for God and the Blessed Mother will be passed down in her grandchildren’s hearts for generations.

Agnes is preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Quinton Wingerter, Son, Jason “Jay” Wingerter, Daughters-N-Law, Rosemary Wingerter and Carol Wingerter; Parents, Joseph and Regina (Bosch); Siblings, Anton “Tony” Schneider, Jim (Becky) Schneider, and MaryLou (Martin) Schaefbauer. 

Visitation Services for Agnes will be held on January 31, 2025 - Bismarck Funeral Home (3723 Lockport Street, Bismarck, ND 58503) starting at 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM CST. *Rosary Starting at 7:00 PM. Mass - St. Michael’s Catholic Church (210 5th Avenue NW, Mandan, ND 58554) on February 1, 2025 at 10:00AM, CST. Catholic Burial - Saint Philomena Cemetery in Selfridge, North Dakota 58568 (following Baymont Luncheon) *Luncheon to follow Mass at Baymont Inn and Suites (2611 Old Red Trail NW, Mandan, ND 58554).
