09 Jun Marie Weixel

Marie Lorraine Weixel, 84, of Bismarck, passed away on June 6, 2020 in a Bismarck hospital. Visitation will be Friday, June 12^th, 12:30 – 2:30 at the Bismarck Funeral Home and a graveside service will be held at St. Mary’s Cemetery at 3:oopm.

Marie was born on February 12, 1936 to Jerome and Rose (Hajicek) Kotaska on a farm near Pisek, ND. She graduated from 8^th grade and later went on to obtain her High School General Achievement Certificate. She worked as a nanny, nursing assistant and bookkeeper.

Marie loved spending time with her family. She enjoyed baking and cooking. She made mints for every graduation and wedding. Every Christmas she would make Krum Kake, Lefsa and several kinds of cookies. She would spend hours working in her garden.  She enjoyed making crafts and looked forward to going to Summer Camp for the Blind. She was a member of St. George’s Episcopal Church where she enjoyed making quilts. She was once married to Bernt Bellerud and later married Arthur Weixel.

Marie’s surviving family includes: daughters: Sandy (Rod) Williams and Joy (Kern) Wilson, sons: Bryon (Lanette) Bellerud, Kent (Ardella) Bellerud, and Andrew (Christie) Weixel. Grandchildren: Danae (Kris) Greek, Destin (Kady) Williams, Brent Williams, Tiffany Wilson, Tim (Josie) Wilson, Bryon II (Tea) Bellerud, Brandon (Crystal) Bellerud, Heather (Bobby) Sanders, Brittany Miller, Alex (Julia) Bellerud, Anna Weixel and Bethany Weixel. Great Grandchildren: Abri Johnson, McKenna Greek, Madalynn Greek, Rylan Williams, Jaslyn Bellerud, Zayden Bellerud and Kyon Bellerud.

Marie was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Margaret; infant daughter, Rose Marie; and husband, Arthur.
