I have known Gene for years, since 1960. Gene hired me at QBNR in Dickinson. I was so very sorry to hear about his passing. We talked on the phone a few months ago . I was very glad to hear from him as Gene was one of the best boss I ever had. I am going to miss him. I regarded Gene as my very good friend. I will never forget him. Our prayers are with the family of Gene.
Craig Russell (Business associate and friend of Rick Scherer) I pray that the grief of your loss lifts soon. However, I don't know whether condolences are appropriate: I know as well as you, that Gene has merely been planted to rise again incorruptible at the appointed time and join you in heaven. Glory be to God.
My families thoughts and prayers are with yours at this time of grief.
I have fond memories working with Gene at Hedahls. My sincere condolences.
I am Frank Scherer’s granddaughter. Clarence and Frank were brothers. Cleo Scherer Albers was friends with Gene as children and I think they were in touch occasionally. I am sorry for your loss. I read the obit and am very interested in the genealogy book as well as the books Gene wrote. My grandson is in engineering at Baylor university. I always thought Matthew was like my grandfather. Similar interests and abilities like the Scherer family. If anyone in the family is so inclined to contact me my cell is7014128411 and I live in Monument Colorado and would love to get Gene’s books. I grew up in Center moved to Fargo and married an AirForce officer who died from Agent Orange. Eunice Light Luke Matson 1644 Plowman Drive Monument Colorado 80132
I am so sorry to hear of Gene's passing. I have known Gene for many years through auctions. He was always pleasant and a kind person. If he wasn't at the sale, people would always ask about him. Bless his heart.
Sympathy and prayers to the family. We were out of country so didn’t make it to funeral. Gene was always very interesting to visit with. Happy to see him at HAAG Reunion a few years ago.
