Gerald “Gerry” Andrew Hilzendeger, 47, of Bismarck, ND passed away way too young on Sunday April 7th, 2019.  Mass of Christian Burial will be held at the Ascension Catholic Church, 1825 S 3rd Street, Bismarck, ND 58504 at 10:00 a.m. on Friday April 12th, 2019.

Visitation will be held at Bismarck Funeral Home, 3723 Lockport Street, Bismarck, ND 58503, Thursday April 11 from 5-7pm, Rosary/prayer service at 7pm. 

Gerry was born in Wishek, ND on April 26, 1971.  He graduated from Napoleon High School in 1989.  Gerry attended college at Northland Community and Tech College in Thief River Falls Minnesota, where he received his Aviation Mechanics Certification.

In 1992 Gerry met the love of his life, Heidi Hensel.  They were married in Bismarck, where they raised their daughter Brooke.   Gerry’s love for his daughter was only matched by the love he felt for his grandson Kai.  They were his world.

After an extensive career with Executive Air Taxi Corp and Med-Trans he decided to pursue his own business ventures.  Extreme Properties Inc. covers his wide range of business endeavors from world wide helicopter brokerage, commercial real estate, trailer sales and ice vending machines.

Gerry’s generosity with family and friends was above and beyond the norm.  His love of people and making people laugh was like no other.  Anyone who knew him knew you didn’t take off your shoes or turn off your car when you visited his house, but you were always welcome….until 6. His quick witted humor will be missed beyond belief.

Gerry is survived by his wife Heidi (Hensel), daughter Brooke & his partner in crime Kainoa Jangula.  Mother and father, Barbara (Kuhn) & Andy Hilzendeger of Napoleon, ND.  Sister and Brother in Law, Pam (Hilzendeger) & Randy Piatz of Bismarck, ND.  Nephews Brandon Piatz (Quin Glaser, Fiancee) & Connor Piatz of Bismarck, ND. As well as his in-laws , Joan Houchin Nevis, MN;  Matt Hensel, Osage, MN; Wendi (Hensel) Hartig (Clint Wright), Osage, MN; Herbie Hensel (Chris) Park Rapids, MN; Nephews Joe Hartig, Luke Hartig (Cassidy), Trenton Benson, Matthew Hensel, Niece Audrey Hensel & Great Nieces Elana & Esme Hartig.

Gerry is preceded in death by grandparents, Nick & Regina Hilzendeger, Pius & Katherine Kuhn, Uncle & Godfather Adam Johs, Uncle Joe Kuhn, Uncle Steve Hilzendeger.
