Stephina D Bosch, 82, Bismarck, went peacefully in her sleep, into the arms of the Lord on November 20, 2017, at St. Gabriel’s Nursing Home in Bismarck. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 25 at Cathedral of the Holy Spirit Catholic Church. Burial will be at St. Martins Cemetery, Dodge.
Visitation will be from 5 – 8 at Bismarck Funeral Home with a rosary at 7:00 on Friday, Nov. 24.
Stephina was born to Valentine and Martha (Schumacher) Senger on November 30, 1934, at their farm near Dodge, ND. She graduated high school from Dodge Public School in 1952. She married Joe Bosch Jr. December 30, 1952 at St. Martin’s Catholic Church south of Dodge. They built a home and farmed with Joe’s parents, two miles from the Senger farm, where they raised ten children.
In addition to her busy life as a mother and farm wife, Steph was actively involved with St. Martin’s Catholic Church Christian Mothers and taught children’s religious education classes. She was actively involved with the Dodge School, volunteering where needed. She had a constant presence in supporting her children’s many activities and sports. After leaving the farm, she and Joe worked in property caretaking and maintenance in a variety of places including Beulah Bay, St. Paul, MN and Bismarck.
She loved gardening and maintained a huge garden on the farm. She completed a flower arranging course and loved to sew and do crafts of all kinds. She and Joe loved to spend as much time fishing as they could. Steph was a member of the Cathedral of the Holy Spirit. Her courage and tenacity were an inspiration to all those who knew and loved her and she will be greatly missed.
She is survived by three daughters, Joanna George, Stacy, MN, Carol Nodland, Bismarck, and Denice Bosch, Palmdale, CA; six sons, Rodney (Shelly) Bosch, Mandan, Steven (Colette) Bosch, Kansas City, MO, Ronald (Laurie) Bosch, Mandan, Jeffrey (Christine) Bosch, Valencia, CA, Bradley Bosch (special friend Rachel), Bismarck, and Jamie (Claudette) Bosch, St. Michael, MN; 21 grandchildren and 29 great grandchildren; and two sisters, Kate Zeece, Richardton and Loretta Mehrer, Mott.
She was preceded in death by her husband Joe, her parents, her son Timothy, her sons-in-law Rick George and Dale Nodland, four brothers and three sisters.
