Sherwin F. Nolz, 54, of Bismarck, went home to meet his Lord on June 30, 2018. A memorial service will be held on Monday, July 9, 2018, 10:30 a.m. at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Linton, ND. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
Sherwin was born in Wishek, ND on February 8, 1964 to Francis and Anna (Zahn) Nolz. He grew up on the family farm north of Hague. On the farm is where he learned that hard work is necessary and important to make life happen.
Sherwin graduated from Linton High School and joined the National Guard. After his time in the Guard, he started his working life. All of the jobs that Sherwin had where hard manual labor jobs. If you knew Sherwin, you knew that he could do the work of three people in one day. A strong work ethic was a trait that employers valued in Sherwin. Northwest Contracting was his final place of employment.
Sherwin has one son, Brandon, who resides in Bismarck.
Passion for the great outdoors and for the opportunity to ride his motorcycle all over the state were things he enjoyed. The freedom of letting the wind blow through his hair made him smile.
Sherwin will be missed by his parents, Francis and Anna Nolz, Linton; Son, Brandon Nolz; step-children, Ashley and Randy Keller, Bismarck; sisters, Sherlene Nolz and Sheila (Gordon) Herman, their children Jacob and Ariana, and one brother, Steven Nolz, all of Bismarck.
He is preceded in death by his brother, Sheldon Nolz, grandparents, Anna and Andrew Nolz, Barbara and Constantine Zahn, and niece Myia Rae Herman.
