Rose Olive Eide, 97, passed August 12, 2018 at the Baptist Health Care Center, Bismarck. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, August 17, 2018 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Wilton.  Burial will be at St. Johns Cemetery, Arena, ND. 
Visitation will be from 5 – 7 p.m. with a prayer/rosary service at 7:00 at Bismarck Funeral Home.
Rose McIntyre was born May 29, 1921 in Bowden, North Dakota to Owen and Margaret (Mulholand) McIntyre.
Rose was raised on the family farm ten miles north of Arena.  She attended rural grade school in Hazel Grove Township. She graduated from Wing High School in 1939, then attended Valley City Teachers College and earned her Standard Teaching Certificate.  Rose taught school for six and a half years in rural North Dakota.  She married Ingvald Emil Eide Jr. (Junie) on November 20th, 1944. They celebrated sixty-six married years.  Junie and Rose lived on the Eide homestead farm. They had four children, Ingvald Eugene III, Roberta, Cleo, and Rebecca. 
Rose was the Postmaster at Arena which also incorporated the country store she owned and operated.  She was active in the community, which included a 4-H leader, school board, Wing Home makers. Rose retired from the Post office when vandals set the building on fire.
Rose will be missed by her surviving brothers, James (Wilma) McIntyre and Bob (Agnes) McIntyre, three daughters, Roberta Thorson, Cleo Hickel, Rebecca Eide-Valdez. Son-in-laws, Steve Thorson and Andy Valdez, Daughter-in-law Janice McCormick. Grandchildren include: Ingvald Eugene Eide III, Lori (Sean) Agnew , Jody Oswald, Chad (Sara) Thorson , Chris Thorson, Kyle Thorson, Kelsey Thorson, Kraig (Heather) Hickel, Kara Dodd, Heidi (Will) Leach, Josh Hickel.  Great grandchildren, James Agnew, Josi Agnew, Brandi Agnew, McKenzie Thorson, Jordyn Thorson, Lane Thorson, Kyla Hickel, Alisyn Dodd, Alexius Leach, Adisyn Taylor Leach, Ava Rose Leach, Austin Hickel, Ashley Hickel, Owen Rutsche Hickel, Bella Eide, Jacob Eide, Audrey Rose Oswald, Afton Daisy Oswald.
Rose will be reunited with her husband Junie Eide, son Ingvald Eugene Eide III, Father and Mother Owen and Margaret McIntyre, siblings Pat, Hugh, Richard, Mary Alice, (Helen and Mark who died in infancy) McIntyre, son-in-law DuWayne Hickel, and grandson, Scott Thorson.
Rose was a beautiful person, fun loving free spirit. She was always on the go and loved adventure.  Rose enjoyed the annual fishing trips and dog racing road trips with her traveling buddies.  In the later years she became a snowbird, spending five winters in Houston, Texas.  She will continue her journey in Heaven.
