Pauline Holkup was born June 4, 1927 as the eldest of 9 children to Peter and Rosa (Ferderer) Doll. Her childhood was spent on the family farm at Almont, ND. At age 20 she left for Bismarck and worked in the Greyhound Bus Line dining cafeteria. There she met her future husband of 43 years Charles Holkup. Pauline and Charles raised three children, David (Joyce) Holkup, Stephanie (Jeff) Kubas, and Charlene Holkup.
Among the many events of her life, she was most proud of returning to school in her 50’s to receive her G.E.D. Around the same time, she completed the requirements to gain her first driver’s license.
Among Pauline’s most precious gifts were her five grandchildren and her religious faith. She was an active member of Corpus Christ Parish and the Catholic Daughters of Corpus Christi. Pauline spoke often of needing to support seminarians in correspondence and prayers. There was immense joy in her heart when they were ordained as priests.
Pauline She was preceded to heaven by her parents Peter and Rosa, her husband Charles, brother William Doll, and sister Ann Doll.
