Paul F. Folmer, Sr., 75, Regan, died May 12, 2018 at a Mandan care center after a short courageous battle with cancer.  A memorial service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday May 19, at Bismarck Funeral Home.  Family will be receiving friends one hour prior to the service. A private family burial will be held.
Paul was born June 15, 1942 in Wilton, ND to Donald “Bud” and Anne (Doerr) Folmer.  He grew up on the family farm north of Regan, attended rural elementary school and high school in Regan.  He served in the U.S. Navy from age 17 to 21, being honorably discharged in June 1963.
Paul married Janice Roeder on August 11, 1962.  He managed a service station in Riverdale until returning to the family farm in 1969, being the third generation to farm it. Paul and Janice farmed and milked cows until the time of her death in 1977.
Paul married LeNora (Berg) Wanner on August 19, 1979, bringing together a combined family.  They farmed and raised beef cattle until 2008, then remained on the farm and rented out all the land until present day.
Paul helped raise all the kids, two special grand-children Anthony and Ashley, and great-granddaughter Aries.  He was well known for his honesty, integrity, helping anyone in need, having a fantastic sense of humor, and pulling practical jokes.  In his younger years he built and raised dirt-track cars.  Paul's hobbies were tinkering in his shop, fishing, hunting, playing cards, and planting and caring for miles and miles of trees of all kinds.  He fed wildlife in lean years and enrolled the farm in both Pheasants Forever and Ducks Unlimited.
Paul is survived by his wife LeNora; sons: Paul Jr. (Naomi) and Tony (Eileen); step-daughter Maureen (Kevin) Mohl; step-son John Wanner; sisters: Joanne (Gene) Coon, Judy (Donald) Bender, and Diana (Randy) Stockert; sisters-in-law: Sharon (Jerry) Hoffer, Linda Leuwer, Cathy (Bruce) Hoekstra, Marilyn (Perry) Schuetz, Sharon Roeder, Susan Stockert; brothers-in-law: Vernon Morris, Wyman (Linda) Roeder, Jeff (Karen) Roeder, Rueben (Carol) Berg, Burnell Berg, 12 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, first wife, step-daughter Marian Wanner, granddaughter Ashley Folmer, great-grandson Elijah, and sisters Bernice and Donna.
He will be greatly missed by all who loved him.
