Margurite E. Toay 77, Bismarck, passed away September 29, 2013 at a Bismarck hospital. Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, October 4 at the First Presbyterian Church, Bismarck. Burial will be Friday, 3:00 p.m. at the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, Mandan. Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Thursday at the Bismarck Funeral Home.
Margurite (Marg) was born December 18, 1935, Jamestown, ND. She is the daughter of Axel and Gladys (Mickelson) Headland. She grew up and attended school in Montpelier and Jamestown, ND.
Margurite was united in marriage to William (Bill) Toay on October 17, 1953. The couple had four children: Delphine, Mike, Teresa, and John.
Margurite devoted her life to the caring of her family including her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
She was a member of the VFW Post 1326 Auxiliary, American Legion Post 1 Auxiliary, and the Sons of Norway, Lodge 4-107 Sverdrup (Golden Member).
She is survived by her husband of 59 years Bill, Bismarck, daughter Delphine (Jack) Gregoire of East Grand Forks, son Mike (Beth) Toay, Grand Forks, and son John Toay, Grand Forks, sister, Helen Wolf, Minnesota, brother, Arland Headland, Washington. Her family also includes 10 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. Other family members include, Aunt Deloris Carlson, Jamestown, sisters-in–law: Jeanette Srozinski, Jamestown, Judy Bear, Buchanan, and Karen Toay, Las Vegas, Nevada.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her daughter Teresa Kalal, twin brother Melvin Headland, and grandson Shawn Toay.
