Lorrie Schnabel, our dear wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, after a courageous two-month battle with leukemia, walked into the loving arms of Jesus on June 11, 2018. A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, June 14, 2018 at GracePoint Church, Bismarck.
Lorrie Jean Stolz was born to John and Molly (Miller) Stolz on July 19, 1943 in Lehr, ND. Lorrie graduated from Lehr High School in 1961. On August 13, 1961 she married the love of her life, Cleo Schnabel. They made their first home in Oakes, ND and welcomed three of their children there. In 1966 they moved to Strasburg, ND where they lived most of their years together. They added two more of their children while living there.
Not only were Cleo and Lorrie a team at home, they were a team at work, serving the building community at Farmer’s Lumber Yard for 38 years. In 2003, they retired and moved to Mandan where they have enjoyed bowling, golfing, and spending time with their family and friends.
Lorrie is survived by her loving husband Cleo; daughters Valerie (Mark) Entzi, Annette Kessel, Becky (John) Kuss, Lyndsi (Will) Vander Wal, and son Timothy (Julie); grandchildren: Megan, Alissa, and Samantha (Entzi); Jordan, Joshua, and Andrew Kessel; Ethan and Anthony Schnabel; Caleb, Jared, Makayla, and Isaac Kuss and great-grandchildren: Avrey Ann and Duke Schnabel; and three new great-grandchildren to be born in 2018. She is also survived by her brother Al Stolz and sister Margaret Miller and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, five brothers, and five sisters.
In lieu of flowers a memorial fund will be set up to supply comfortable recliners for the Sanford Bismarck Oncology floor in her name.
