LeeAnn Frances Neva, 66, passed away on December 10, 2017. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, Dec. 18, 2017 at Grace Point Church. Burial will be at the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
LeeAnn was born August 2, 1951, in Northwood, North Dakota. She grew up in Finley and was a cheerleader for the Finley Wildcats in high school, graduating in 1969. After high school, she went to Grand Forks to work for Northwestern Bell. LeeAnn worked for the telephone company for 42 years, retiring in 2011 in Bismarck from Century Link. She met her husband, Dale Neva, in Grand Forks and they were married on October 31, 1970 and had two children. They lived for a time in Grand Forks and then moved to Bismarck in 1981. Dale and LeeAnn raised dogs, as pets and as hunting dogs. They bred English Cocker Spaniels, and after Dale passed away in December, 2014, LeeAnn doted on her dogs.
LeeAnn truly had the heart of the Lord’s servant. Throughout her life, she gave generously to anyone in need. She found joy in helping others and always put their needs above her own. She was quick witted, and always had a comeback for any compliment or criticism that came her way. She was a person who lit up any room she came into, and her friends at the telephone company knew her only as “Neva.” She was modest about herself but proud of her family. She will be missed by all who knew her irrepressible spirit, classy way of dressing, and her giving nature, and she will not soon be forgotten!
LeeAnn is survived by her sons: Shannon (Cherie) Neva, Jamestown and Kip (Sharla) Neva, Mandan; her siblings: Linda Johnson, Bozeman, MT; Lonnie (Jim) Catalina, Olathe, KS; Larry (Liz) Johnson, Granville, ND; and Lyle Johnson, Bismarck; granddaughters: Sydney and Ashley Neva; Riley and Daymon Glandt; Amanda and Rebecca Ross; Samantha (Chase) and Danyelle Eichele; and Alexa (Blayne) Rau; grandsons: Gunner and Tucker Neva; and Mathieu (Courtney) Ross; and great-grandchildren: Rhett Allen; Isaac, Leah, and MacKenzie Ross; significant other: Thomas Disselhorst; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and colleagues.
LeeAnn was preceded in death by her parents, Frances and Milton Johnson, and her late husband of 44 years, Dale Neva.
