Kurt was born on July 8, 1958 to Reuben and Blanche (Bettenhausen) Wetzel in Bismarck, ND. Kurt graduated from Bismarck High School. After high school he enlisted in the U.S. Army with time served in Fort Lewis, WA and Germany Army Bases as a medic. He received an Honorable Discharge in 1980.  He then attended North Dakota State School of Science in Wahpeton, ND earning a degree in Auto Mechanics. On October 6, 1989 he married the love of his life, Connie Berger at Christ the King Catholic Church, Mandan.
Kurt enjoyed nature and spending time with family and friends. Kurt loved to travel especially when his beautiful Rose accompanied them on many trips. She was more a daughter than a niece. She gave Kurt so much joy! Their faces would light up the room when they were together. She truly had a special place in his heart.
Kurt will be deeply missed by his wife, Connie, brothers-in-law Louie Ding, Paul (Helen) Berger, Vernon (June) Berger, Wilfred (Lynda) Berger, sisters-in-law Marietta (Terry) Neuberger, Bernice (Sam) Johnson along with his nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Dwight, sister, Sandra Ding and brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Andrew and Marlene Henning.
A special thank you to Mayo Clinic Care Team, Rochester, Sanford Health Oncology and Infusion Center, Bismarck and the staff at Marian Manor, Glen Ullin ND.
