JoAnn Arlene Reich, 82, Bismarck, formerly of Goodrich, died, May 14, 2017, at Sanford Health, Bismarck. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, May 18, at Faith Lutheran Church, Bismarck, with the Rev. Jon Splichal Larson officiating. She will be laid to rest at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 17 at Bismarck Funeral Home from 4:00 to 6:00, with a prayer service at 5:00 and continue one hour prior to the service.
JoAnn Giedd and her identical twin sister, Jeanette, were born April 9, 1935 in Bismarck to Rudolph and Bertha (Vollmer) Giedd. JoAnn was one of three children. She attended high school in Washburn and graduated from Bismarck Hospital School of Nursing in 1957.
She met her husband, Edward Reich, while working as a RN at Ashley Hospital. They were married December 18, 1960. They raised their children in Goodrich. JoAnn was employed as a public health nurse and RN until her retirement. They moved to Bismarck in 1996. JoAnn was recently a resident at Missouri Slope Lutheran Care Center in Bismarck.
JoAnn enjoyed cooking, crocheting, reading, working on puzzles, and spending time with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband, Edward, Bismarck; her children, Paul (Linda) Reich, Bismarck, Sheila Reich, Bismarck, Malette (Carl) Young, Garrison, Rick (Kathy) Reich, Hazen; 12 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, 2 nieces, 2 nephews, and sister-in-law, Wanda Giedd.
She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Jeanette Herr, brother Charles, and a grandson Brandon Reich.
