Janice (Jahner) Klein passed away Thursday, November 30, at Saint Alexius Hospital after her battle with cancer. A memorial service will be held at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, December 5, at Saint Mary’s Catholic Church, Bismarck. The family will be receiving visitors from 5 to 8 p.m. on Monday, December 4, with a rosary at 7:00 p.m. at Bismarck Funeral Home.
Janice (Jahner) Klein passed away Nov. 30, 2017, at Saint Alexius Hospital after her battle with cancer. Janice was born in Bismarck, ND to Theodore and Mary(Fischer) Jahner on June 22, 1940. She was raised in Bismarck along with her 11 brothers and sisters, where she attended St. Mary's elementary school and Bismarck High. After completing school she worked at A.W. Lucas Department Store, where she met her future husband, Pius Klein, born in Linton. After dating about a year and a half, Janice and Pius were married on Feb 8, 1958 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Bismarck. They lived in Bismarck for a short while before moving to Minot where they spent most of their life and raised five children, Bonnie, Carey (deceased), Marty, Penny, and Vicki. As the children became older, Janice worked at various jobs throughout her life. Activities she enjoyed with her husband and children included snowmobiling,camping, fishing, and traveling. She loved racing her snowmobile in the powder puff class, and playing softball in the summer. Janice enjoyed being an amateur radio operator and participating in associated activities. Later in life, she traveled with her husband to many parts of North America and Europe. When she wasn’t busy with watching grandchildren, she found enjoyment in baking, and gardening and was passionate about reading novels. She touched many lives throughout the years. Janice was extremely loving, passionate, and giving. Her passion, more than anything else, was raising her family. She was always there when someone needed her, never judged a soul and always had the answers.
Janice is survived by her husband, Pius Klein, Bismarck, her children Bonnie(James)Journagan, Mojave, Ca., Marty Klein, Napa, Ca., Penny(Jason)Gregory, Minot, Nd., and Vicki(John)Archer, Richland,Wa., brother Dennis Jahner, and her sisters Gloria Kaiser, Diane Fischer, Elaine Kelly, Dennis Jahner, Cathy(Bob) Martin, Cindy(Special Friend, Jerry) Bosworth,and Faye(Terry) Tschosik, and numerous neices and nephews.
She is also survived by 11 grandchildren, Jeremiah(Rosie) Journagan, Casey(Adrianne) Journagan, Kausha Bakk, Jessica Kraft, Nicholas(Tessa) Klein, Kelly Eaton, Kesha Eaton, Savannah(Jordan) Glick, Shaun Archer, John Archer, and Ashley Archer and 20 great- grandchildren.
Janice was proceeded in death by her parents Theodore and Mary(Fischer) Jahner, and her daughter Carey Kraft, her brother Theodore Jahner, and her sisters Shirley Bachmeier, Rosemary Wetch, and Cherie Rudnick, and several sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law.
