Gene was born at St. Aloisius Hospital in Harvey, to Clarence and Elizabeth (Hager) Rademacher. He grew up on the family farm near Anamoose where he attended school and graduated in the class of 1975. As a young man he took over the family farm. He met his best friend and soulmate, Joyce at the home of his best friend and future brother-in-law Monte Roe. They were married September 23, 1983. They were blessed with two children, Casey and Hope. After he left the farm, they moved to New Salem, where they raised their family and worked. He was working for Morton County, doing what he loved being outdoors.
Gene was an avid outdoorsman. He loved to be out fishing and hunting with family and friends. He spent his vacations at Lake Sakakawea at Morning Star Campground and Van Hook Resort with his family and friends. He would spend hours looking at lake maps and researching to be the best fisherman. He was at peace most of all spending hours on the boat with his best friend, his wife. It was always a competition on who was going to catch the biggest, the first and the most. He was always happy to be the guide service and not just the fisherman. His greatest love was spending time with his wife, children, daughter-in-law Shae and his little granddaughter Addyson, whom he lovingly nicknamed “Tude”. Gene always had time to help others with his traveling hardware store and never asked for anything in return. He always had a quick remark and a smirk on his face when talking with family and friends.
Gene will be deeply missed by his wife Joyce, New Salem; son Casey (Shae), daughter Hope, granddaughter Addyson, Mandan; sisters Dorothy Fix, Arlene (Larry) Arndt, Underwood; brothers Charles, Williston; Robert “Bob” (Carol), Trenton; Wayne (Jane), Underwood; numerous nieces and nephews; and many friends.
Gene is preceded in death by his parents Clarence and Elizabeth “Liz” Rademacher; father-in-law, Anton “Tony” Weekes Sr.; brother-in-laws, Monte Roe and Ernest Fix; and sister-in-law, Linda Rademacher.
