Daniel “Dan” Craig Evans, 52, Bismarck, passed away at his home on October 29, 2017. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, Nov. 3, at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church. A private family burial will take place at a later date.

Visitation will be from 5 – 8 p.m., with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 2, at Bismarck Funeral Home.

Dan was born in Valley City, ND on January 25, 1965 to Norm and Mary (Burmeister) Evans. He graduated from Century High School in 1983 where he was the drum major of the band. He earned an Associate in Science degree in Psychology in 1985 from Bismarck State College. Dan was a member of the Bismarck Elks and Moose Club for many years.

He married the love of his life, Rae Dockter, on April 25, 1992. Together they had one daughter, Alexys, the other love of his life.

Dan worked in car sales most of his adult life. He worked for the Dvorak Motors family dealership at the time of his passing. He was a very dedicated, reliable, and hardworking man. He loved to make people feel good about buying a vehicle. He had a remarkable memory for detail, and made a point to send birthday and anniversary letters to each and every one of his customers. He expected more from himself than anyone ever could expect from him. He loved playing pool (really loved!). His team won the ND state pool tournament in 1999, which was a very proud moment in his pool life. He loved to be on the water and enjoyed skiing, going fast in his speed boat and then later in his life just lazing on the pontoon. He also loved motorcycles and got his Harley a few years ago which was a goal fulfilled.

When Dan was 14 years old, he and his dad bought a ‘55 Chevy Belair, 2 door hard top that they worked on together. This car was a work of love that he is giving to his first grandson who will be born very soon. Dan was an amazing person who touched the hearts and lives of many. His personality and sense of humor brought joy and smiles to everyone he met.

Dan is survived by his wife, Rae; daughter, Alexys (Zack); father Norm (Jan) Evans; 3 brothers, Steve, Mike and children Kryshel, Shaleah, and Vogue; Josh and son, Sawyer; and two sisters, Vickie (Brian) Volk, Dawn (Dave) Hagerott and children, Morgen and Gabriel as well as three step-sisters, Laura, Brenda, and Julie; along with many in-laws who he considered his second family.

Preceded in death by his mother, Mary Werre, father-in-law, Walter Dockter, mother-in law, Betty Dockter, sister-in-law, Dorinda Johnson, nephew, Christopher Vernon.
