Charlotte Jensen, 93, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on February 7, 2018. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 24, 2018, at 11:00 a.m. at Open Door Baptist Church
Bismarck, with Rev. Daniel Haveman, Officiating.
Charlotte was born in Flasher, ND on August 1, 1924 to August and Sadie Kollmann. She graduated from Flasher High School and married Christian Jensen on August 9, 1942. They celebrated 72 years together until Christian passed away in 2015. Although Charlotte had never been outside of North Dakota, she more than made up for the lack of travel after she married. They lived in eight states ranging from New York to Washington until they finally bought a house in Lincoln, ND in 1977. She never complained about all the moves. Instead she made even rental apartments feel like home. Her hobbies included making homemade fudge, playing Scrabble, and working in her yard. When she could no longer work in her yard, she was always thankful to those who mowed the lawn or trimmed trees.
After her husband passed away, she often talked of “Going Home.” Although she had grown up in church, she had doubts whether she would go to heaven. It wasn’t until 1948 that she asked Jesus to be her Lord and Savior. Then she knew that God had given her His gift of eternal life.
Her family will remember her deep love for them and the warm hugs she always gave. She will be greatly missed by her children: Judith (Roger) Anderson; David (Lidia) Jensen; Wesley (Alice) Jensen; and Timothy (Diane) Jensen. Grandchildren: Deborah Penny, Darren Anderson, Rachel Schreiner, Audrey Delaney, Elizabeth Jensen, and Christina Norton; Great-grandchildren: Trinity, Luke, and Logan Penny; Alexis Anderson; Christian and Sarah Schreiner; Alexander and Jazmin Norton; also many nieces and nephews.
She was reunited in heaven with her husband Christian, two infant children, Paul Michael and Susan Elizabeth, and a granddaughter, Alison Geary.
