JACOB EHLI

Jacob M. Ehli, 77, Bismarck passed away, June 17, 2019.  A memorial service will be held on Thursday, June 20, 2019, at 10:30 a.m., at the Bismarck Funeral Home.  The family will be receiving friends one hour prior to the service.  Burial will take place at the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery following the service.

Jacob was born on June 20, 1941 in Bismarck to Jacob and Margaret Ehli.  He attended Bismarck High School until he enlisted in the Air Force in 1960.  During his years of service he was stationed in Germany and South Korea.  After being discharged he returned to Bismarck.  He married Linnea Andahl in 1968 and they had three children, Marcy, Brett and Lori.  He was employed with Benson Optical for many years.  He married Julie Blasy in 1993.  They moved to Grand Junction Colorado for several years where he worked for Loomis Armored US as an armored guard.  They moved back to Bismarck in 2006 to be closer to his children.

Jacob was very proud and honored to drive veterans to and from doctor appointments at the VA clinic in Fargo.  He always had a smile and some quick humor for anyone he met.  He loved when any young kids would come visit, he especially loved when his grandson Jordon would come to visit.  He will be dearly missed by his wife and his family.

He is survived by his wife, Julie; daughter, Marcy (Mike) Running, Mandan; son, Brett Ehli, Bismarck; graddaughter, Ashley (Patrick) Kelly, Bismarck; grandsons, Jordon Ehli, Bismarck and Mace Blasy, Fort Collins, CO; brother-in-law, James Ritz, Grand Junction, CO; sisters-in-law, Mary (Dan) Dinneen, Mandan and Eileen Blasy, Fort Collins, CO; and many nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Lori Ehli; granddaughter, Hailey Ehli; stepson, Joe Blasy; and sister, Margaret Ann Ritz.

The family would like to give a special thanks to Northland Pace and Prospera on Sunset for all their special care given to Jacob.
