Mark was a wonderful person, friend, colleague and chaplain who touched the lives of many people including mine. He lived a life of grace and sharing the love of God with others. He was a very caring and kind person who lived out his faith and reflected Christ in his life daily. I pray for God's presence, strength, and comfort for his family and friends as they mourn his loss.

Mark was a person who lived what he believed and loved his family. During this time we pray for the children and family left behind that they will rest in God and make sure of their own salvation so they will be reunited some day.

1Co 15:55 "O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory?" Dear Pittman Family, We sorrow with you and yet, we rejoice with the completion of Mark's race and home going. What a privilege it was to have Mark minister at Catawba Springs Christian Church for some nine years. We look forward to ministering with him again soon with our glorious God and Savior, Jesus Christ! Even so, come, Lord Jesus, The Members & Friends of CSCC

What a wonderful testimony Mark shared with everyone he met. I remember him from bulliten night at Chickfila in Garner NC. What a servants' heart he had for sharing the Gospel. Garner NC

Dear Jessica, Jared, Jaymie, and Jayson, your dad meant the world to me. He was my faithful friend and spiritual mentor who encouraged me during my darkest times. I’m sad that my friend is gone but I rejoice that he is experiencing the presence of his beloved savior. I will never forget our shared experiences and look forward to the day that we meet again. May you feel the peace that surpasses all understanding.

I was wondering if he might have been a relative of mine since he spelled his name the same as mine? Darrel Pittman

We were so sorry to hear of your Dad’s passing. We are rejoicing with you that he is with his Lord and Savior. We are thankful for the HOPE we have in JESUS and to know we will see him again. With that being said, we also know that it hurts so bad to lose our loved ones. We are praying God’s Comfort for you in this time of loss.

I will always have good memories of Mark from attending high school with him at Garland Christian Academy. Though I have not seen Mark in over 35 years, I was happy when he reached out to connect with me several months ago. His Facebook posts have been thought-provoking and inspiring. Though my heart is sad, I rejoice that he fought the good fight and was faithful to the end and is in the presence of the Lord (Papa). He will be missed but never forgotten.

I was in Sanford in February and March 2017, and he was such a blessing to me during that time. He was in 2-3 times a week and always shared the Word, said a prayer & brought encouragement. Sanford has lost a wonderful chaplain.

Thank you, Mark, for sharing your journey and your love for the Lord with me. I know I am not the only one, but you made me feel like the most important person you were helping at the time. I will not forget the lessons on learning to trust God in everything and living in His grace and showing that grace to others. I wasn't ready for the lessons to end, but I know God was ready for you to be home with Him. Thank you for your friendship and your love. You will be greatly missed! Love you Brother! Paul

I will always remember Mark’s bedside prayers at the hospital. Not only did patients find peace with his words, but I felt I did too. He always had a picture (or 6) of his family with him to share. I will truly miss him, his prayers, his smile.

I had the pleasure of attending bible study and working with Mark. He was an awesome man of God and I was blessed to have gotten to know him. He loved his family and spoke proudly of you often. Mark will be missed but the Godly wisdom that he shared with me will be with me always.

Our deepest sympathy to N Mark's family-- we were so thankful to meet Mark when he filled in at Taylor Lutheran and later to visit with him while Paul was a patient at Sanford. He had a gift of sharing and caring. He's gone to his heavenly home with our Lord

I attended the same church in Garland, TX as Mark and we knew his dear mom, Frances, well. I attended BJU as did Mark, his brother, Dave and sister in law, Susan. Our daughter, Kate, was at BJU when Jared was. What a surprise to find out Mark and family were in Bismarck, just 1-1/2 hours south of us up here in Minot!! I wish I'd have known sooner.. My husband and I had hoped to drive down for the services on Sunday but our elder care plans for my 95 yr old mother fell through. Do know our thoughts and prayers are with you all at this time. We lost our 19 yr old son to metastatic cancer 2 years ago and we could not have got through that without a solid faith in God's grace and goodness and knowing things were part of His plan. Trust that this will work for you four children and the grandkids too. Please look us up if you're ever in Minot. Our prayers are with you...God WILL be there even when it seems darkest.
