My condolences are with your family. May the God of comfort strengthen you during this time of sorrow. In God's time, you will all be able to echo Job’s words addressed to the Creator: “You will call, and I myself shall answer you.” Praise be to Jehovah, who yearns to bring back to life all those who are in his memory!—Job 14:15.

Brenda & family, my thoughts & prayers are with all of you. Tom was such a joy to be with & always had a story. Always helping wherever he could & telling his stories. I wish I could be there but I don't drive in the winter & this cold weather has kept me house bound for a few days. Love to all, Aunt JoAnn

Deepest Sympathy to Tom's family. The loss of Tom will be felt state wide. The love and drive Tom had for the betterment of EMS in North Dakota cannot be matched! Tom was not only an effective leader, he was a mentor to many. Tom always had time for a conversation about EMS especially if we could get into a homemade piece of pie while having that conversation. Every EMS provider was important to him. Tom never forgot his rural roots. I will always cherish all the genuine advice he provided! Rest in Peace Tom! Thank You for all you have done for us.

Brenda and family, So sorry for your loss. Tom was a fine man with a big heart which I’m sure you are all well aware of. His impact on EMS in the state of North Dakota is immeasurable. I have so many fond memories of my association with Tom over the years, the least of which includes our efforts to expand and grow EMS services in our state. He is a true icon of EMS services in North Dakota. I will always remember that he used to say “Crazy legs Tommy Nehring from Bowbells North Dakota #? on your scorecard #1 in your heart”. An endearing joke by a dear man and friend. May he rest in peace. My condolences and blessings to you all. Sincerely, Bill McKinnon

Tom was one of my classmates and my best friend in high school. I have so many stories and adventures that he and I shared that will be with me forever. He was one fun loving guy who always made others laugh. Nearly Fifty three years have passed and I still get a smile on my face when I recall all things we did. My heart is heavy as we have lost another member of our class and a good friend. Rest in peace and know that you had a life well lived as a servant to both the Lord and all who knew you. My deepest sympathies to the entire Nehring family.

Brenda, family and friends. I am very sad to hear of Tom’s passing. He taught my medic class in Fargo and become someone I respected and considered a friend. I wish time would have afforded one more visit. Peace to you all.

My deepest sympathy to all the Nehring family. Like Ed, Tom was one of my best friends and we were together most of the time. I once heard that Inie thought I was a good influence on him. But no one influenced Tom. The Little Rascals reference made me smile. So true. RIP my old friend. Gone to soon.

We have many fond memories of Tom and the contributions he made to the North Dakota Department of Health, the North Dakota Emergency Medical Services system and the citizens of our state. I remember how happy we were years ago that Tom was joining the Health Department team. He first joined the Emergency Preparedness and Response program to help build disaster emergency response capability. Later we were lucky that Tom was available to assume the leadership role in the Emergency Medical Services Division when that became available. Tom was not just a founder of EMS in our state. He was a teacher, a planner, a visionary, and a friend. He had big ideas and a large personality to match. He will truly be missed.
