My sympathies to Rose and the family- you lost a good guy. I have a few funny memories of Mark, but will share one: the first time I met you at your home for dinner on the grill I brought bruschetta and some shrimp for the grill. You opened the shrimp and yelled " how long have these been in the freezer? you can't eat these- they have ice on them" and promptly threw them in the garbage. I spent a lot of money on those and had just bought them at the grocery store!! I'm so glad I got to meet you and that your daughter married my son. You will be very missed.

Mark you always greeted me with a hug and kind words. You impressed me with your courage and fight with this ugly cancer!! Also your acceptance and no fear of dying. Thank you for taking care of all the details so Rosie doesn't have to deal with them now. Since you are my only brother in law, you are my favorite. Mark I can see you smile at that comment! Rest In Peace, see you on the other side.

Rosemary and family, please accept our sincere words of sympathy with Mark's passing! He was a great guy that never settled for doing anything half way, you were either all in or you were out! I loved his enthusiasm, his love for life and his family. Mark will always be missed by our family, we will always cherish those memories. God bless you all. Dan and Roxanne

Shawn - I cannot tell you how sorry I was to hear about your dad. I was shocked and saddened by the news. Your dad was one of the most straight-forward people I know and I feel he always had the best in mind for his family - both in good and bad times. Your family has my deepest sympathy on your loss. Mark will be missed greatly and remembered often.

My heart goes out to Mark's family & actually to this entire community for the loss from Mark's earthly death. I was a few years younger than Mark but from the time I was a teenager ... there is still so many memories ... all of which were postitive: Hunting gophers with 22 ga rifles as teanagers, seeing an unbelievable trampoline performance at a SMCHS homecoming while we were both students, & most importantly ... many short but very meaningful & purposeful exchanges at my self service car wash business throughout the decades that we have known each other. I know by Faith that Jesus & his mother sees the good that Mark has done.

Sure will miss this good friend of mine from over 30 years back. Glad I got to see him and talk a lot in the last year. Thought you would be around longer Mark. Always wanting to help out, invite you somewhere or give you a coupon to save money on a tool or something. Great sense of humor as we had many laughs and good times. Great harmonica / piano player !! We will all miss Mark. God bless and condolences to his great family.

To all of Mark's family - I was saddened to read of his passing. I never met Mark but I remember his parents fondly. His mother was my grandmother Margaret's sister. (Margaret and Ed lived in Williston.) Having known Freda and Leo I can only imagine the kind of man Mark was. My sincere sympathy to you all.

Rosie (Shawn, Rachel, Robyn) and all of Mark’s family: I’m sorry to hear you’ve lost your husband, your dad and your grandpa. It’s sad knowing Mark’s battle with his fiercest opponent ended. Mark was a fighter, a strategist and a winner. His athletic skills were apparent on the softball field, the volleyball court and on the foosball table. Mark’s talents seemed boundless. After everyone saw him buy a piano, a guitar and a harmonica, we all watched him teach himself to play and become a musical scholar. Soon Mark’s unique style surfaced with his belting out many original folk songs and pounding out long, complex piano symphonies. Although he and I lost touch with one another, we were always friends. I met up with Mark about 18 months ago in Menards’ parking lot. We talked for a half hour or so. I discovered he was still the same fun-loving, intense guy I’d known for more than forty years. I’m betting he was a pretty awesome dad and grandpa. Rest well, Markus.
