ARLETTE KOVAR

Arlette Mae Kovar, 86, formerly of Flasher, passed away Monday, April 29, 2019 in New Salem at Elm Crest Manor.  A private family service will be held at a later date.

Arlette was born August 21, 1932 to Ailer and Virgie (Rhone) Jorgenson.  She grew up on the farm near Brein.  She attended grade school there and graduated from Flasher High School.  On May 22, 1950 she married Ruben “Bud” Kovar, and they moved to Bud’s grandfather’s homestead.  They worked the next 60 years on this farm until moving to the 55+ Club in Flasher.  After seven years there, they both moved to New Salem and resided at Elm Crest Manor until her death.  Milking cows, raising chickens, watching the grandkids, vegetable gardening and whatever she could do to help was the way she filled her days.

Left to share her memory are her husband Bud; sons Luke, Ron (Lyndell), and Tim (Lori); and daughters Debbie and Patty (Randy) Bohe.  She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Elmer (Millie) and Leslie (Frances), sister Julia (Lawrence) Sakshaug, and grandsons Dustin and Denny Black.

She was so looking forward to celebrating her and Bud’s 69th anniversary.  Unfortunately, she could not overcome her health problems.  She will be truly missed by all.
