ADELINE OTTESON

Adeline Margaret (Beaver) Otteson, 89, of Absarokee, MT, passed away July 21, 2019 at the Baptist Health Care Center in Bismarck, ND. She was a member of the Absarokee Evangelical Church in Absarokee, MT. Funeral services will be held at the Absarokee Evangelical Church in Absarokee, MT on August 9, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. Committal services will be held at the Rosebud Cemetery for Adeline and also for John Leslie (Les) Otteson who passed away Jan. 16, 2017 and Jonathan Leslie Otteson who passed away, May 11, 2018.

Adeline was born in Rolette, ND to Alvin and Martha Beaver on December 22, 1929. She graduated from the Lutheran Bible School in Fergus Falls, MN. On June 17, 1949, she married John Leslie (Les) Otteson at the Ebenezer Lutheran Church in Rolette.

Adeline was a woman of many talents. She was a bank teller, bookkeeper, she loved playing accordion, piano, organ, coronet and keyboard. Among her music talents she also loved to knit, crochet, sew, draw, type, and helped her husband Les in Child Evangelism Fellowship and as a pastor’s wife in Crystal Springs, ND and Absarokee. In 1959, she took a position at the Jamestown National Bank in the bookkeeping department. When they moved to Absarokee she was transferred to the National Bank in Billings, MT and continued to work there until her retirement in 1991. She remained busy using her talents in the Absarokee Evangelical Church and in the community playing for groups and giving piano lessons. She loved being with family, friends and playing games. She loved to travel in her motorhome, taking mini trips to the Hostfest and to see family. She loved trips with Les, traveling to many places and countries.

After having some health issues, she moved on July 30, 2018, to the Baptist Health Care Center in Bismarck.

Adeline is survived by her daughters, Rebecca Grover, Blackfoot, ID, Sara Warkentin, Sacramento, CA, Michal (Warren) Schlecht, Bismarck, Rhoda (Dwight) Lachenmeier, Medina, ND, Eunice (Gail) Ellison, Billings, MT and Esther (Shawn) McCoy, Big Timber, MT; 26 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Alvin and Martha Beaver, infant sister;  infant brother and Keith Beaver; sons-in-law, Joe Grover and Ron Warkentin; husband, John Leslie Otteson, and son Jonathan Otteson.
